What is the Business Zone Project?
The Business Zone Project is an experience for middle school students that allows them to visit businesses in the community that match their interests and aptitudes. The program incorporates supporting curricular activities before and after the job visit.
Goals For Students:
- Begin to identify career interests.
- Observe the daily routine of adult workers.
- Gain an awareness of the academic, technical and personal skills required by particular jobs.
- Develop and apply communication skills by interviewing workers.
- Realize that different jobs are characterized by different work environments.
- Begin to understand the connection between school, work and achieving goals.
- Become a continuous, life-long learner.
