Weave the arts into Ancient Greece

with Educational Materials Center and Fine and Performing Arts.  Educational Materials Center has bibliographies for Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, and Ancient Egypt. Let the artifacts and art of ancient civilizations enliven your classroom.  AncientGreece.com is a great website which includes family trees for the Greek gods and much, much more.  Then test your knowledge of mythology with the NGAClassroom Ancient Arcade matching game.  Visit Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome via a website created for 3rd graders by the University of Richmond.  Design a new temple for the Acropolis at the British Museum's Ancient Greece webpage

Phoenix Art Museum is one of only three museums in the United States to offer this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see works by the Dutch masters from the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam , including 14 works by Rembrandt.  This marks the first time an exhibition of this size from the Rijksmuseum collection will be presented in the United States.  The museum is expecting over 200,000 visitors so this will be a very high profile event.  Educational Materials Center has some wonderful Rembrandt materials for use in your classroom.  In addition to the various museum resources available on the web there are some excellent teaching guides.  Rembrandt: His life and times is a 9-12 lesson from Discovery School.  The Rembrandt Teaching Project has a large number of elementary and middle school lessons developed by teachers of New York District 24 with the help of the Metropolitan Museum and the Frick Collection.

Mission Statement
