Sending Jobs On Disk:

Jobs that come in on disk must include a hard copy so that we can compare our output to the original. We accept HD Floppy Disks, USB flash drives, Zip, CD-R and DVD-R Disks (Mac only for DVD-Rs).

Be sure to include the following:

  • ALL imported graphics (clipart, photos, etc.)
  • ALL fonts used in the document

  • Installed fonts vary across District computers! Please call first to ensure the fonts you are using are installed here at the Print Shop. If you are using Microsoft Publisher, embed your fonts! Here's how:

  • Choose TOOLS -> COMMERCIAL PRINTING TOOLS -> FONTS
  • Make sure "Embed Truetype fonts" IS checked.
  • Make sure "Subset fonts" IS checked.
  • Make sure "Do not embed commong system fonts" IS checked.
  • Save your document! That's it!

    Sending Jobs Via Network Mail/Internet:

A job may be sent using the District's network or the Internet. A hard copy of your job will also need to be sent along with a work order. The hard copy will be compared to the emailed file to ensure it is correct. The file size must not be more than 6 MB (megabytes).

    You may send files to:

    · Mike Ortiz: michael.ortiz@tusd1.org
    · Jay Barrow: jerry.barrow@tusd1.org

Sending Jobs Via the TUSD Intranet:

(To use this method, you must be connected to the TUSD intranet network via PC.)

To upload files to the Print Shop's directory, first copy the file you wish to upload by following these steps:

    1. Open My Computer or Windows Explorer.
    2. Locate the file you wish to upload.
    3. Right-click the file, and select Copy.
Next, paste the file into the Print Shop's directory by following these steps:
    1. Click Transfer Files to Print Shop. Instructions will appear. The Print Shop directory will open.
    2. Right-click in the main portion of the window, and select Paste (or choose Edit -> Paste from the menu). The file will be pasted into the Print Shop directory.
Once files are transferred, they may not be deleted or renamed. Please contact us at the Print Shop to delete/rename files you have copied over.

Please name your files accordingly! Append your site name to the file names. Example: 'Prof Dev brochure.pub' rather than 'brochure.pub'. This will save time and mistakes down the road!
